The above video is just a short (30 seconds) slide show of some pictures I took today while we were convoying in the HETs. I do have video, but due to the bouncy nature of the vehicle most isn't usable. I'm experimenting with slide shows through Pinnacle software as I get frustrated with Blogger for making me add all the photos I want to use and then type around them.
Kicking around the idea of taking the next night or two off from blogging in order to review my videos and throw together a package for KIMT, subject to Public Affairs approval. I also have a tentative interview lined up for Thursday with a member of my platoon who stands out in more ways than one. I have decided that from this point out I am going to post any interviews I conduct on here as well as submit them to KIMT. That way any family/friends who want to see their soldiers' interviews can do so without having to wait for KIMT to post it, and it will be available through my blog's archives.
Training went really well today. We drove on the roads with trailers, and unlike First and Second Platoons we didn't have anyone hit any signs, gates, or have any on-road maintenance issues. With luck this will continue past our being road tested this weekend. I actually got to drive for slightly over an hour and it was fun! Tomorrow promise a good number of photo/video opportunities as we'll be learning winching techniques and how to load an A1 Abrams tank onto our trailers.
Until then, everyone be safe.
