As yet another sign of our rapidly approaching return home today we sealed the doors on our final baggage Conex. This is not to say all our gear is ready to ship, but at least our personal issue that is not going to our de-mobilization site is. It was a short day for most, a bit longer for the drivers of the truck we were loading, but in the end no one was unhappy to have yet another task done toward leaving this region of the world.
The entire process of having our shipped baggage checked by Navy Customs went quickly and without hassle. Many of us found we had more room in our bags after being inspected than we did when we originally packed. I have no idea why that happened, only that it did. Myself, I can't complain. I was the fifth person in the door and the first one out. During some pauses while the bags were brought out to be loaded I was able to take some pictures. Unfortunately just about everyone wanted to pose for the camera. Normally not a big thing, but today was one of the few days I knew before hand exactly what it was I wanted to photograph. Its all good though as it shows that even now the unit's morale is still high. We might not all be at the same level of it, but each and everyone of us is excited to some point about returning home.
That's pretty much all I have to say about the last couple days. The packing of all the company's equipment is running smoothly and we should be cleared to go home without a hitch.
See you all soon, in the meantime be safe.
